A long term investment. Federal tax benefit. Greater privacy. Stable monthly payments.                

Cons:

High upfront costs. Less mobility.  Maintenance costs. Property Values can fall.

Rent a Home:

Rent a home is a contract between landlord and client for a specific time. In this contract, they decide a fee which the client has to pay every month to the landlord. 

Pros:

Rent payment may be low.  Low upfront costs. Repairs are not your responsibility.

Cons:

Rents will keep rising  No wealth creation No tax benefits Stick rules
